Honestly, there's very little harm ever done here. Sure, the anime incorporates the Kid Buu hax no doubt, but manga wise, there isn't hardly any issue from what I can see.

I suppose you mean retroactive effects from later story elements in DBS.

Bardock's wish to have his sons thrive could be an excuse to justify iffy power-ups for Goku.

Otherwise, I can't think of anything that requires a rethink of Z powers in the manga. Maybe the Yo Son Goku manga can put SSJ Goku above SSJ Gotenks.

Goku's chapter 1 image training maybe counts, but not necessarily.

The Super Hero movie uses a new animation for Future Trunks vs Freeza that follows the manga version without the Supernova filler. Could be a retcon of Kai, or Super Hero's film is its own reality and we will get a retelling in the DBS part 2 anime.

I think it's legit, but how is it a detriment? It just suggests Goku powered up greatly since the Buu Saga which seems implied anyhow.

Yeah, it’s surprising. You can pretty much faithfully scale Z without worrying about Super messing things up other than Boys ~ Cell Jr’s that’s about it?
