How will the alliance beat Kaido?

I just don't see it being feasibly possible at all. They struggled enough with taking on Doflamingo, who was terrified himself of Kaido. The calamities are probably strong enough to take on Luffy/Law on their own, let alone Kaido. Unless Gear 5th is in the works, I don't see it.

I hate to say it, but I really think there's going to be a second time skip like some One Piece fans predict. Luffy will once again realize he's horribly outclassed.

Honestly I think that might be one of the only solutions for this, but it feels too soon. They haven't done enough yet in the New World to warrant a time-skip. Luffy left Rayleigh at Sabaody saying he would become the Pirate King, so I can't see him having to take another break to get stronger just to take down Kaido.

Think about it from a storytelling perspective... Luffy being 19 and Pirate King doesn't look very interesting. After all, even a shitty series like Naruto had Naruto become Hokage many years after the war.

Yeah, I know. There is still a long way to go. Some weird shit has to happen to make it work.

At the same time, I feel it's already implied that they'll take Kaido down, (dont read this Yoshi)
because they already sent people to Wano to start taking care of that issue.

Law did say that their alliance stood a 30% chance of beating a Yonko, which is pretty impressive if not assuming Law was underestimating them. Gear 5th seems foreshadowed by Rayleigh saying Luffy would need something better during the flashback when discussing Gear 4th, so it could be that Gear 4th's going to become the SS2 of OP possibly.

Without resorting to such a thing, the only other alternatives I see are expanding the alliance to try and recruit more allies. The Coliseum fighters could come to their aid if necessary, or they could form alliances with more Supernova or returning allies like Jimbei.

Gear 5 is going to have to be extremely OP if Luffy is meant to do anything. Luffy is still below the likes of Marco by a good deal in Gear 4, and Marco was beaten by Blackbeard, let alone Kaido. Maybe when Nekomamushi brings back Marco, he'll bring back Shanks too lol. That's the only way I see Kaido being taken down.

I don't know if another timeskip is required. The crew got steadily stronger over the course of the pre-timeskip arcs without training.

Something similar could happen here.

I don't think a timeskip is required either. I think it will be a team battle as was implied when the other worst generation kids accidentally came across him.

This is true, but it seemed similar to DBZ zenkais. When the crew was challenged and brought to their limits, they overcame those limits and got stronger. So far in the New World aside from Doflamingo, they haven't had any real trouble. And at that, only Luffy was the one who had a lot of trouble in Dressrosa.

I'd say Sanji probably underwent one in between PH and Dressrosa, comparing him breaking his leg when making contact with Vergo's to momentarily clashing with Doflamingo without the same happening, when even with CoA Doffy's kick should logically be >> Vergo's. He also suffered great injury in the latter, which could open up another opportunity, as well as Usopp receiving enough injury for him to pass out in Dressrosa. Luffy also likely got one from the injuries he received on Fishman Island, which almost killed him.

Not that it changes the main point of the Zenkai-esque boosts. We're likely to see a lot of them in the incoming arcs.

Well we still have a lot to go before we reach Wano. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the teams get pushed to the brink prior to fighting kaidou directly.

Read a theory that Gear 5 will make Luffy into the monkey king/Su Wukong basically, by using his conqueror's haki. Would truly be his SSJ2 since it'd be akin to Gohan utilising his long hinted hidden potential.

Maybr they team with Kidd etc? Kidd has knowledge of Kaido's powers. Maybe Sabo and others from that group will help, or Aokiji. Think it's too early for just Law and Luffy and their crews to take down a yonkou alone. Maybe the second one, but not the first one they fight.
