How would you rewrite Broly's movie(s)?

In Broly movie we haven't inconsistencies like that that are noticed by any casual fan with a memory of the original events,
A Broly with severely limited training and a battle power far lower than Freeza's natural one prior to his training managing to get to the level where he can contend with God Ki users is just as bad as Freeza's gains, if not even worse.
Whilst not having as many battle-related inconsistencies, it has far more inconsistencies when it comes to character motivations, the way Freeza and Beerus were treat being key examples. I'd say that's an even greater concern when looking at its impact on the series as a whole.

plus the comedy of Broly's movie seemed pretty in line to me.
If anything, the comedic moments were some of the more damaging one. Freeza wanting to wish for greater height as a pointless gag damages his character's integrity so much despite how short it is, whilst Beerus becoming a babysitter destroys what integrity he had as a force that still held some authority over the main cast.

Broly didn't appear before, that's the thing. With Freeza it raised the question of why not to train to be better prepared for his encounter with Goku... if 4 months bestowed that huge ass increase, how strong could he be if he commited to training instead of relying on technology that barely allowed himself to surpass Goku and his father?

Besides, RoF also makes it so that Freeza was alware of Majin Boo and Beerus the whole time, turning his "I'm the strongest in the Universe" instances into false bravado all the time. Heck, he knew Goku has progressed further than he estimated when he heard of his feat of defeating Boo, but doesn't lose his faith on his new to-be power...

Well, I'd argue Freeza has just changed his way of being, similar to how Piccolo and Vegeta went through changes of behavior and perceptions after a while. It's arguable that he also knew he couldn't just get away by having immortality with Beerus awaken and the two Zenos turning that into a pointless factor.

The Super show itself has already shifted Beerus' into a non-threat creature, I'd say. He hasn't been apart of the latest two big arcs besides helping the main crew killing present Zamasu and gets bribed by Bulma with food all the time. Adding a scene in which he takes care of Bra isn't too damaging with what we have already seen imo.

It's not the change that's the problem, but his reasoning behind it. Abandoning that desire because of his experience in hell is the most nonsensical justification for a change in goals to come out of the DB franchise when immortality is the only thing preventing Freeza from ending back there when he eventually dies.
The only way to make that work is if he had decided to change his ways, and his actions in the film make it clear that's not the case.

In the Universe 6 Arc, he still threatened the main cast with destruction should they ruin things for him and in the ToP Arc of the manga, he clearly showed dominance over Vegeta and seemed to enjoy putting him in his place. The most he did for the main cast in the ToP is offer some minor commendation, a far cry from stooping to the level of being a mere babysitter unbefitting of his rank.

The comedy isn't the only aspect of Beerus' character that was damaged, but his motivation. His quest to find the Super Saiyan God who could challenge him and even changing his plans when being impressed at the capabilities of one far below his full power seem meaningless now when despite a Saiyan who can truly challenge him appearing, he did absolutely nothing to achieve his goal.

Not to write Vegeta and others on the same age. That was very stupid imo. Vegera was already older than Goku based on OG manga.

Also turn Broly into a tweener character who have a hatred on Vegeta and Freeza for obvious reason.
