What are their power levels, purely manga wise (no filler, no movies, no Super no nothing)? I think they should be somewhat close to Piccolo, since they reduced the gap at Saiyans Saga, so they should have been able to reduce it further after they all did the same training.

Piccolo
-weighted: 250.000
-unweighted: 300.000

Tenshinhan: 225.000

Yamcha: 200.000

Chaozu: 100.000

I'd say how they're portrayed in the Ginyu filler was a decent benchmark for either their power at the time or after the training in general when considering Piccolo's GAINZ. I wouldn't say the power they gained should be proportionate to Piccolo's when considering it's been shown Piccolo can gain far more from the same training as other characters (eg. making far greater gains from the same 3 year training Gohan went through), not to mention the humans hitting walls a lot earlier than Piccolo, yet having them comparatively so low they don't even make 1/10th of his gains in all that time seems like a lot to swallow regardless of plot dictating power.

I don’t think the humans in 6 days would achieve close to the gainsGoku received in the months he stayed on Kaio’s planet. Agreed with CC in that Piccolo’s potential is far greater, so he was able to maximize his gains early (despite it still being bs). I’d say anywhere from 40-60k each is ok.

Since I'm not considering any sort of secondary information outlet, I wouldn't put them much above 20-40,000, with Tenshinhan maybe hitting that latter mark at best.

I'm not going to apply any persuasion from Piccolo's gains whatsoever into their training.

Them being close to Piccolo also makes it easier to place them at the millions in Android Saga without suddenly giving them absurd gains.

Not really, them gaining such power in such a short amount of time would be even more absurd. Also plot dictates power for the most part, which is the only real reason Piccolo made such gains from Kaio's training in the first place.

They never even learned Kaioken, so likely weaker than Saiyan Arc Goku.

See, I used to think that was complete nonsense, but when you remove the bias towards Piccolo's gains and ignore the anime filler, it doesn't even seem out of left-field anymore. Nothing contradicts such a low placement except for the aforementioned bits and the reluctance to give the humans such huge gains training for the androids.

Maybe not during the six days.. but wouldn’t it make sense for them to see those sort of gains by the end of their training there? Didn’t they have to spend a full year on Kaio’s planet?

In the 90s, I thought the humans leveled up faster because they already faced a power like Nappa and were able to sense how insanely powerful Vegeta was, while Goku only faced Raditz.

Training gains have never made much sense. I don't see why a year on Kaio's would necessitate getting 10+ times stronger just because it sounds like it should.

Maybe because Goku got ~20 times stronger in 6 months and the humans showed up on Kaio's planet a lot stronger than Goku was.

OK, that's great and all. Still doesn't cause an effect on anything.

It definitely makes it more than reasonable for Tenshinhan to have made fairly significant gains (Ginyu Force tier) in 10x gravity over a yearlong span than to have ended up weaker than Saiyan arc Goku. That just seems absurd.

Does this implies Post Kaio Goku > Post Kaio Tenshinhan?

Chapter: 261 (DBZ 67), P8.4
Context: talking about Kaio’s training
Tenshinhan: “I can’t surpass Goku doing the same training…I’ll have to just quickly grasp the point of the training and polish my techniques in my unique way…I just won’t accept the sort of pathetic showing as last time…”

Keep in mind this is just after Goku left for Namek. Tenshinhan thinks he needs to innovate on his techniques elsewise he ain't catching up.

It sounds more like bias to me.

It does. There is no reason to give them such pathetic gains after a year on 10x gravity with the universe's martial arts master. That is straight up disrespectful to Kaio, and is contradictory to what we saw him do with both Goku and Piccolo. Was he just sitting around sun-tanning while the humans were there neglecting to train them? Come on.. Nobody is saying they have to make the same gains as Goku and Piccolo, but to say they are under Saiyan arc Goku is absurd.
