Nevermind, I think I misinterpreted your post.

Sure man, I really wish that OP were the one in hiatus rather than HxH. I've just way more interest in seeing how the events of HxH unfolds. But I can't keep with it given its constant hiatus. Same for Berserk. Both blow OP out of the water.

I mean I like HxH, but man it's like Berserk where I can't count on the series being around week to week. One Piece goes on hiatus for a week at a time tops.

Yeah, Berserk is another series I wish wasn't on hiatus. Whilst it has lost a bit of his meat with its more lightheart tune, I still hold interest in the Guts vs Griffith conflict... and would like to see Griffith's ideal world more explored.

Nah, firsr arc of HxH already cleans current OP. As for their peaks... nah, not even Marineford, Alabasta or Ennies Lobby is getting close to what HxH offered in its peak.

As for the fights... Hisoka vs Kuroro is already better than any OP fight... and it's impressive how that's the case with Togashi's horrendous art for Hisoka and Kuroro. At least the dialogues there revolves around the fight, whereas in OP it's the same "I won't let you do it!!", "You can't beat me" old fuckery.

HxH is overrated to hell and back. All those three sagas you mentioned are above anything HxH ever did. Besides he doesn't even know how to write. So much exposition in a manga is just ridiculous. He doesn't know how to tell a story via manga.

I think he was inspired by Goku, just like Luffy. The three characters are pretty carefree in general, like to follow their instinct and are naive. Luffy is the most flamboyant out of the three. What seemed to distinguish Goku in the DB world was his naive nature and obliviousness to the world... Whereas Gon has such a simplist approach to things in general that surprises the cast, yet he's still so instinctive and pure that he attracts the people around him. Luffy is the most distinguishable one by his flamboyant and childish attitude.
