I believe Goku didn;t want to hurt Vegeta's feelings by going SSJ3 against Evil Boo now

I've had several theories of mine stolen from Tapion & Randomguy.

Vegeta already know Goku has SSJ3, so using it or not using it makes no difference for Vegeta's feelings.

You know what would've hurt Vegeta's feelings? Goku continuing to act as if Super Saiyan 2 was the best he could do.

Some people have gotten this strange idea that Goku doesn't want to hurt Vegeta's feelings AFTER being called out on it once. Makes a ton of sense. Not.

Fact: Goku has no reason to hide Super Saiyan 3 at this point. Vegeta knows about it.

More facts: he's not beating Fat Boo as a Super Saiyan 2, he's not beating Kid Boo as a Super Saiyan 2, he's not beating Super Boo as a Super Saiyan 2.

Fact: Goku is adamant about using it.

Being reluctant doesn't mean he wouldn't use it at all.

He was trying to avoid a battle with Super Boo. That much is clear. Had they never come across Mr. Boo's pod, a battle would've inevitably taken place. No matter how you look at it, he would've had to use Super Saiyan 3. The same logic applies to the Kid Boo battle without taking filler into consideration.

It's a fact. But I know you. You won't give up, even if you're clearly wrong.

He didn't let Gohan die. He wasn't in a position to stop Kid Boo and believed he couldn't deflect it.

That same opinion perfectly applies to you, btw.

What does that have to do with anything? He doesn't think the attack can be deflected regardless. That means turning Super Saiyan 3 would've been pointless because the attack was still too huge to deflect.

He didn't let Gohan die.

He used it when he fought Kid Boo because anything less isn't going all-out.

Indirectly. By not using Super Saiyan 3, he's risking Vegeta's entire existence. That's way worse.

No. He quite clearly says they can't deflect Kid Boo's attack. It means they can't deflect it.
