What do you think Beerus intended to do? Crush Moro's crystal or something else entirely?

Whis had not yet revealed what needed to be done, but Beerus could've been thinking along the same lines as him.

I remember when some people said they believed he was going to Hakai Planet Moro, but I'm not sure how he'd do it without destroying the entire planet.

Honestly I would assume Beerus and Whis were both on the same page with one another. As soon as Whis said there was one method, Beerus said he would step in and lend a hand. I think it makes more sense for Beerus to be thinking of that method instead of having some other technique in mind to deal with Moro.

I don't think GoDs are forbidden, Beerus has fought SSJG and SSJB/SSJBE opponents before and not been threatened erasure. GoDs are just forbidden from time travel, he's even killed other gods like Zamasu and Kaioshits are said to be forbidden from destruction as their job is creation

His job is to destroy things who put the development of the universe at risk, and Moro definitely fits the bill for that.

Beerus stepping in to beat Moro might be viewed as stepping in to save the earth, as opposed to beating Moro for the sake of the universe. He also wasn't obligated to destroy Moro even if he was a threat to the universe. By that logic he'd have dealt with every threat that appeared in U7. He's not a protector.

Not like he gets threatened with erasure like the Angels though, seeing as GoDs have gone looking for opponents to fight. They really should've just said with the Angel power Moro's absorbed, Hakai'ing him would produce an explosion so big it would ruin Universe 7. They did make it so even Hakai'ing part of Vegeta's armor knocked him out of SSJBE
