I also doubt future Trunks would not come at Cell had the latter start to absorb the remain people.

Also, was said that there were 15,000 people on Ginger Town and Cell absorbed all of them. Therefore, Ginger Town Cell absorbed more people than Cell of Trunks' timeline (it considering Cell of Trunks' timeline absorbed any of the people).

Yeah if the cell of trunks time period had absorbed a ton of people, Trunks would have known he was around before he just shows up. But again that's assuming that both trunk's timelines are the same except for trunks training.

Which isn't set in stone.

Cell is implied to be much weaker upon initiation in the present timeline, there should be no reason it shouldn't be the same in the alternate timeline, anything else can explained by absorption.
