Is Goku dumber in Super?

Do you think that Goku suffered from flanderization in the Super series? I honestly see Goku in Super and just can't picture him as the same character portrayed in the latest arcs of the original manga... he seems more stupid, immature, silly, whereas his manga self seemed to suffer more from social awkwardness to me. His Boo saga self was still smart enough to bribe Old Kaioshin using an actual woman for such, whereas... his Super self thinks that merely wearing a mask will make him stronger... besides other silly things, like never having kissed.

I also didn't like (it was manga only) how he ddidn't think he was suited to train Oob, and had to be "convinced" by Dende to take the task... it doesn't seem alike Boo saga Goku.

Reminds me a lot of OG DB Goku and M8 Goku character IMO. Aren't most of the shonen protagonist are dumb idiots like Luffy and Naruto? I can see Toei trying to do the same thing here but the thing is that Goku is a grandfather now and there's no need for him to act like a retard.

Definitely. There's a clear difference between his self from the original manga and Super. Kid Goku still had the critical thinking to use his surroundings to his advantage such as pouring tea down Murasaki's reed or breaking the wall of Muscle Tower to freeze Buyon. Super Goku doesn't even have the common sense to use the Zen-Oh button when he was beaten the first time by Black and Zamasu or spam Shunkan Ido to save his teammates in the ToP from ringout.

Goku from DragonBall wasn't. Luffy is actually quite intelligent when he wants to be. Naruto too to a certain extent from what I remember. DragonBall Super Goku is a whole different level of stupid.

I've only watched the funimation of OG DB. Both Goku from OG DB and Super gives me the same impression but that's just me. Not saying that Goku is like Luffy in terms of intelligence maybe Toei or Toei tried to turn Goku into a dumb protagonist like from other franchises but they just went too far.
