or at-least maybe rivals dragonball as manga? maybe not in sales (as a franchise), but recognizability & ppl liking it.

Maybe in Japan but I don't think it can be said the same thing on the rest of the world. If I remember correctly, I've read that Naruto, OP and Slam Dunk have surpassed DB in terms of manga sales in Japan. Also Slam Dunk is very unique since it's the most popular 'sports' manga/anime there is which adds to its appeal.

How tf is Naruto a masterpiece on par with One Piece?

Teens and 20s who's ahead from Slam Dunk and Dragon Ball? It doesn't say. It's even for the 30s, SD is slightly ahead for the 40s.

Other link has SD ahead of DB in the poll of 150K people (here's the English list, makes more sense to post it than the Japanese https://chrysanthemum.commons.gc.cuny.edu/2021/01/manga-general-election-in-2021/ ), but it's the "best", so it might not be the most popular. Most would say Shawshank Redemption is a better movie than The Hulk, but Spiderman is more popular. Coronation Street is more popular - in terms of the percentage of the population who think about the show, watched the show ever or like the show - than Titanic. Pokemon Movie 1 was probably more popular than most Cannes or Oscar winners, that nobody's fucking heard of.

It's the way you talk there I guess. Don't take everything literally, but on-par in-terms of success and helping the magazine maybe. Does that really matter? The people above their 20s, even 30s are the ones who grew-up & read/watched during the golden-age so the popularity would perhaps matter there the most.

I believe the Slam Dunk Manga is more popular than the Dragon Ball Manga worldwide, even though the Dragon Ball Manga has sold more Volumes. I think the reason Dragon Ball has sold more Volumes is because it is more popular as a franchise than Slam Dunk, but Slam Dunk most likely has more readership, overall.

In that link, we don't see what the SD and DB ratings are for 20s and teens. So DB could be more popular with that age group, since DB catches up with SD in the 30s age group, compared to the 40s.

I see Honey and Clover at the top of the web.archive plaza.bunka list. Dunno what that list is really.

Tf is mynavi? That just one business? https://www.bloomberg.com/profile/company/7863121Z:JP

Someone just go to Japan and find out what's most popular, please.

Are you maybe legally blind? Slam-Dunk is on top of the first list. The one you mentioned is on a separate list below.

Saint-Seiya was more popular too (or maybe on-par) once-upon-a-time. See how it’s leading the advertisement?
EDIT: Maybe it’s a tie (or there are ads for each series).
