Is Vegapunk a good guy?

There is evidence of him having solid morals and overall character, such as his deception regarding the "failed" devil fruit he reproduced from Kaido, his overall actions in Caesar's flashback, and the fact that he tried to help his home island when he was in his youth. Having said that, he's willingly lent his powers to the government/Navy and has given them more resources than ever to enact "justice". So is he a good guy or a bad guy?

He's not evil since he accepted Kuma's request to protect the thousand Sunny. If I had to guess he's probably a decent guy.

Do you think the government forces him to work for them or is he simply unaware of the atrocities they commit?

It was said he was arrested for working in MADS, so if I had to guess he was told his crimes would go unpunished if he decided to use his genius in service to the World Gov.

Vegapunks supposed to be the smartest person in the world so there’s no way he’s completely oblivious to the WG’s actions. I guess he could have willingly joined them after his arrest and have some sort of freedom/privileges or be forced into work.
