Idk it just feels like filler to me when so much time is spent on something not actually happening within the plot. Maybe if it was 1/4th the length then I'd have thought differently.

Isekai means "other world"

Basically portal fiction. Modern isekai general involve being sent to a world with now way to return, or killed and reincarnated in another world. Usually incredibly overpowered main characters and harems. They also have ridiculously long names that describe the entire series because the genre is so saturated that they rely on you reading the synopsis in the title.
