Kaio didn’t give Goku the clothes?

When Kaio realized the Saiyans were coming the next day, what if there was no stalling? From the point of Goku calling Roshi to exiting the planet, it felt like there was valuable time wasted. If Goku left immediately upon the realization would Piccolo have perhaps survived?

I don't see why wouldn't Piccolo survived if Goku came sooner than later.

I don't think the time difference between Goku's short conversation with Kaio and the timespan between Piccolo taking the blast and Goku's arrival was that great. At most, Goku would probably arrive just in time to see Piccolo get hit by the attack.

Yeah, there was quite a while betweeing Piccolo being hit and Goku arriving. Don't think cutting out the clothes would've been enough.

If Goku had saved Piccolo, the fight against Vegeta would have been the same, since Piccolo would have left
everything to Goku. When the gang comes back, Vegeta goes down easier and he dies because Piccolo isn't as
forgiving as Krillin.
Piccolo follows the gang to Namek and receives Guru's boost along with Krillin. The boost renders him equal to his
post King Kai self. Seeing Piccolo's recklessness in canon, I guess he does not wait for Goku and goes to challenge
Freeza instead. Everybody dies, Freeza does not get his wish, destroys Namek and leaves.
Goku finds no Namek to land and returns to Earth. Later, he dies of heart virus and Androids destroy the world.

It would've definitely been, though considering how Kaio warned him to never go past x2 and he made it apparent it was something he wanted to use sparingly, I don't see him using it here when considering the risk it could cause if it backfired. Goku's use of it against Nappa suggests he doesn't have too much experience in even using the regular version.
