I have a wierd theory that Piccolo did grow about 10x steonger but was retconned in the Buu arc

He goes from Android 17 level to being around 40% SSJ Goku. I'm not sure what that works out to numerically.

It depends on how big the gaps between Kamiccolo and Warming Up Perfect Cell you have. I'm minimalist, so I think Piccolo got just about 2-3x stronger, but was still weaker than the power level Cell used against SSJG3 Trunks.

Getting 10x stronger makes him Warmup Cell level so its no numerical problem for me

He seemed pretty awestruck by 50% Goku's power, especially after being told he stood no chance against Cell. He'd have to be significantly below 50% Goku.

As for the topic, I have him getting about 26x stronger. Depending on how his power is treated in DBS though, especially after him struggling against Shisami in FnF, I could end up providing a more minimalist view of Big Green.

As far as Piccolo knew, what he sensed was Goku's full power. Furthermore, he already knew Goku seemed prepared to challenge Cell, meaning that he clearly stood more of a chance against him than Piccolo did.

Yeah I was half joking. But it's semi plausible. He does have very good hearing though, with Goku and Trunks convo.
It proves nothing however.

I put him almost 10x stronger than he was before. He went from Android level to 50% MSSJ Goku level imo.
