Well it drains his stamina tremendously. Katakuri seems to be able to use it infinitely.

Yes, but his Awakening wasn't enough to beat WCI Luffy despite having a clear advantage. I have no doubt Law could manage with how overpowered his fruit is even without Awakening. Now he has the power to back it up.
