Luffy becoming Yonko lvl

How did you feel it was handled, was it too fast or easy?

I think it was too fast for everyone who made major gains. At least we did see Luffy training, but his training didn't even bring him close to Yonko level. It required several zenkai type of power ups mid-battle to reach that level which seems a bit contrived.

I don't have a problem with him reaching Yonko lvl, I just feel like the way he did it might have been a bit anticlimactic. Like, he just simply starts using Adv. CoC right out of the gate. At least with Future Sight, he was starting to learn it throughout the course of the fight.

Then after coming back from his 2nd loss to him, he's suddenly an equal to Kaido and it's not even being addressed.

I think Oda has offscreened too many things. When Luffy first learned Advanced Haoshoku he was shown fighting equally with Kaido. Then suddenly he was ejected from the island and near death. What changed? Was it purely a stamina issue that was rectified by regaining his strength?

Well, his use of CoC was crude and clumsy according to Kaido. But Oda hasn't touched upon that again.

I'm starting to suspect that the plot required Luffy to be away from Kaido for a long while, so he needed him to lose. He simply came up with an excuse for it (crude CoC), but he didn't have any intention of making it an important aspect of the fight because at the end of the day, Luffy only had to lose to move the story in a certain direction (Yamato vs Kaido had to happen, Momo becoming large, ect)

I'm fine with that, but it could've at least been shown. Imagine if one of his defeats against Crocodile was offscreened. I get that it's a war and far more fights are happening but when a Yonko takes out the main character it should be shown.
