There is a paradox in manga & anime, they say they don't want to age mcs-up past 25 for certain-demo-graphics but the reader/viewer will never stop getting older. Eventually, they will be older than MCs. They might think if the MC gets older as-in past 30 (even if it's just in a 3-minute epilogue) they will kill all marketability for MC/series but especially for long-running-series the readers most likely are already older than MC (say in One-Piece maybe you started reading at 8 & Luffy was 17 but now you are pushing 40 maybe & Luffy is just just a child to you now. This is another problem all-together for series that take-place in high-schools were youth is every-thing).
You are essentially telling reader/viewer life after 25 isn't worth-living. After a certain-point a 15-year-old MC won't be an idol or peer any-more but a child once the viewer or reader grows-up way-beyond age. You might say well they try to market to next-gen. fans but facts are series will never be as popular to new-generation fans as it was to day-1s who watched in original-generation & they'll be depressed AF because the series considers any-thing past age 25 ancient. For example Okarun & Momo are now teen-agers i understand that but series been going-on for a minute now maybe by now day-1s who read since beginning are almost same age as them or even older than they are currently in-universe but will you see an epilogue of them in their 30s or older? most likely not even-though the day-1 fans might very-well be pushing 30 or over 25 by then. BTW, even in epilogues when they have children in these series, characters are still some-how in 20s, so they have children so so so early just so they don’t go-over…30. That is perhaps to show, look they are grown-up now they have children but to do that they had children eeeeeaaaaarly.
It gives-out a message. Your idols get to stay young forever your age is going-up inevitably (& don't even start at Naruto in Boruto yeah he might be 30+ but he looks dead-inside no joy at-all). if any-thing if your idol gets older along-side you (even if only in epilogue) it gives you a message that the party doesn't stop at 25 or over 30 & you'd still buy their merchandise & support them. Fans who get older than MC start feeling like MC stays young forever & can't identify with idols of their youth any-more.
Day-1s want to see their idols or peers walk along-side them & be their age too to be like “See? It’s not all gloom & doom after a certain-age. They are taking it in strides & having fun even at that advanced-age (29+) just like they always did in their youth.” It’d be a relief, if any-thing. For some there is a real fear of getting older. This’d be a relief to see their idols at same age. You can still look-up-to-them in away.
Facts are no-1 in-reality stays the same age forever, time keeps-going & age won’t stop, but apparently these certain manga & anime don’t. After a certain-point it’s over. The idols of your youth aren’t so any-more.
Also this is completely different since it’s seinen & a dark thriller so duh, but please look at Dr. Kenzo Tenma. OK i get the series it’s a thriller but he looks like 10 Tage Regen-Wetter. Like he’s at Death’s Door & hasn’t heard a joke in 20+ years. That’s what 25+ or 30+ is.
