Sometimes the impact of a show isn't clear until time passes. Some shows I imagined really impacting me a lot, but then I totally forget about them. Others seem just "ok", but stick with you for years.
I'd put Great Teacher Onizuka here (the jdramas). It was dumb, but more memorable than many shows I rated much more highly while watching them. The same ridiculous, unrealistic and simplistic solutions he has to life's problems (eg sledgehammering through a wall between a student's parents who are sleeping apart, suplexing a teacher who calls some kids trash) made it long-term memorable and inspiring.
Gintama is another. Sure I loved it while watching, but the non-comedy elements only grew on me more while not watching it, while thinking about the show and reading quotes over the years. I mostly remember it for the non-comedy now, even though it's 90% comedy.
