I'll make the claim he's not terribly stronger than Ultimate Gohan was in Buu Saga. Like 10x or less. Prove me wrong.

At the very least, Super Saiyan Goku surpassed Kid Buu based on his optimism of fighting someone i.e Beerus as a Super Saiyan. That would mean that Goku had grown considerably stronger on top of battling Frieza whose First Form was much higher than Super Saiyan Gohan.

I'm not sure if we should take Toyotaro's interpretation of RoF to light but his manga clearly depicts Goku having reached God level in his Base form.

We don't know if Base Goku and 4th form Freeza even fought in the manga given it's rushed nature. I can totally see Goku being stronger than Gohan since he's at his weakest here. And Kuririn says Boo > Freeza, not ~.

I think he's still got some residual power of the old kaioshit ritual left tbh. SSJ Gotenks' headbutt scene may have been a gag, but they'd have no reason to make him SSJ in that scene if they weren't trying to convey that Gohan (who stomped a stronger Tagoma/Ginyu) isn't still reasonably powerful.

Base Gohan isn't even all that much more stronger than Piccolo, so I don't know if I buy that. Gohan appears to be back to his Buu Saga self from what I see.

Gotenks is Super Saiyan because that's the form they seem to like, Gotenks should always be Ssj3 in these situations, but he's not. Perhaps he hasn't trained in Ssj3 for a while and just likes to jump into Ssj, with Gotenks there's generally no logic.

Perhaps Piccolo's gotten stronger too. Even before they saw his performance against Frost in the U6 arc he was chosen over the kids for the U6 tourney.

It's tough to tell. Gotenks may be Super Saiyan because it looks cooler. A lot of times with TOEI there's no rhyme or reason.

Gohan seems to be Buu level, Ssj Trunks is all that's needed for Goku to lock on, so we know Ssj Trunks > Base Gohan.
