Which do you prefer? I prefer Y as I find it more useful and the Drought ability not only hinders water-type foes, but also sets up for one-turn Solar Beams and strengthens fire-type moves like Flamethrower. Charizard Y's SpA is also higher than Charizard X's Atk.

Even aesthetically I prefer Y. I'd prefer if black was still shiny only and not as easy as mega evolving.

Same as Orlen. Y's Drought >> X's Dual Typing, not to mention that Charizard's movepool primarily consists of SPAtk anyway.

im gonna go with X. X can easily survive most physical attacks, meaning he can set up a DD
add tough claws to his d claw, outrage flare blitz, he can hit very very hard and has better sweeping capabilities then Y imo

Y's design is better. The problem with Charizard in OU is that it's too slow (relatively) and too fragile. Y boosts up the offense big time with a bit of speed boost. It's still to slow though and if it's damaged already it'll get taken out by a return by Mega Lopunny or icicle crash by weavile (life orb). So it's not really good for sweeping. It might be good if you save it for the end when your opponent doesn't have any major plays left. It's good against stall teams I think for wall breaking.

X is a lot less fragile and can take care of it's speed issues via Ddance. After 1 ddance there isn't really much that can live a tough claws flare blitz.

yeah, ive noticed that, x can go rip through quite easy if you through him at a decent time
Y just never seems to find any success when i use him or when anyone does

I agree, Y is better competitively than X is.

Mewtwo X pretty much forces you to specialize on physical attack though. Otherwise it's basically a waste of a mega stone.

That's not bad though. With Low Kick it does good damage since most Ubers Pokémon are heavy. It also has much better bulk than Mewtwo Y.

yeah and? X has tough claws and can usually set up one DD
that makes it insanely powerful, outrage and flareblitz literally rip trough most things

After looking over the base stats I'd actually have to say Mewtwo Y is better than Mewtwo X. Seems Y has overall better mega evolutions. :)

Drought aside from powering up Fire moves also sets up Solar Beam for coverage against Water and Rock types.

Besides, hit yourself once in confusion after a Dragon Dance and you're likely losing a good chunk of your HP. Dragon Pulse does not run a high risk like Outrage.

X is better as a mega I think. Bulk up + drain punch make it very formidable against the likes of Arceus. Mewtwo Y is a weaker version of life orb normal mewtwo (at least offensively). Also having sucker punch neutralized helps a lot too. I think Y just tends to have better designs but Y has better pokemon. I mean Xerneas's design is absolute shit which Yevetal is a badass. Yet Xerneas is with Geomancy+Power Herb is an annoying top tier Uber.

1.5x ddance + tough claws dragon claw does more than a normal outrage anyway.

I actually have Dragon Claw on mine. I do not like Outrage. I also have Crunch, Dragon Dance, and Fire Fang; which I may replace with Flare Blitz.
