Honestly I didn't realize that since I've recently read all of One Piece recently while you probably haven't digested the story in a while, I would be probably remember more aspects of the series. It's not your fault, keep contributing to these threads.

As for Mihawk's black blade, I've seen some ppl theorizing that such can be the result of Haoshoku Haki activation on it.
Wouldn't this make it more strange that Roger didn't have a black blade? He demonstrated the highest level of Haoshoku that we've seen and didn't have a black blade.

I think it's more likely that being a true swordsman is the way to create a black blade. Ryuma was called the sword god and Mihawk is the greatest swordsman alive. Roger was the most powerful swordsman, but he might not have been the most skilled or cared about identifying as one. Perhaps he didn't have the "relationship" with his sword required to turn it black. We still know too little about black blades to say for sure.

Yeah, I think their "intimacy" to their sword might have to do with it.
