Garp’s durability should be strong enough to tank IJ since he was on par with Roger and Primebeard. Age doesn’t seem to slow down top tiers by much as long as they’re in good health. Just don’t see Sanji on their level just yet.

The power decline is at least noticeable for him to mention it.

Garp's best feat was slamming an off guard Marco into the ground. Even if we assume his power didn't decline further over the 2 year gap, I'm not sure if he'd be capable of beating Marco. Granted I don't think Sanji is either, but that's why I think this could be a good match. Garp might be stronger but I can't see him outlasting Sanji.

The problem is that we haven't seen him fight anybody noteworthy, we don't know how much stamina he has, and how good his Haki is. Current Rayliegh might be a good benchmark in that respect, who was shown to be at a disadvantage against Kizaru.

Despite being sick, Whitebeard was treated like a monster at Marineford. It seems like he was portrayed above Garp, who was healthy. A bit strange, since both were on par with Roger back in the day, but perhaps the Gura Gura no Mi is just that OP.

I'm willing to give Garp the benefit of the doubt that he could perhaps beat any commander below the Yonko (besides maybe Marco) based on his legacy alone, which includes Sanji.

That’s what I was thinking when I answered earlier. We have next to nothing to go on to scale his current power. I came to my answer because I don’t think Sanji could beat MF Whitebeard since he was rampaging with half his head blown off.
