One Piece & Fairy Tail

Have you noticed that these two Manga are often compared to each other? Whether it be because of aesthetics, story arc structure, emphasis on nakama, fanservice, etc?

No, I actually never see anyone talk about Fairy Tail. I'm aware there's a PS4 video game though.

I do remember the comparisons around 2012 though. I think Oda and FT's mangaka (Hiro?) went to the same art school, unless I'm mixing up Oda with someone else.

I think Fairy Tail was dead for a while until the 100 Year Quest sequel.
