I've never fully grasped all of his attacks like I have with Vegeta, Goku, and the others.

What are all of his attacks called, sub and dub, and how powerful are they, or should be?

King Piccolo has a special attack against Kid Goku.

What is the attack Piccolo uses that gets beat by the Super Kamehameha?

What is the attack that blows up the island? Explosive Wave?

King Piccolo's signature attack was the Bakurikimaha, or the Explosive Demon Wave in english.

Hard to say... Maybe it's a powered up version of the Makousen:

Are you talking about in the 23rd Budokai or the Light Grenade? The 23rd Budokai attack is called the Choubakuretsumaha.

But yeah, his attacks in the 23rd become confusing and feel interchangeable.

Yeah.

So there's room for Masenko to be piss weak seeing as he doesn't use it. And it's just a basic move for Gohan to learn due to him having poor ki control. I was worried Masenko would have to match Kamehameha, that would break a lot of lists, but we can keep Masenko weak and utilize these other techniques.

These names definitely suck, I'll have to rework them somehow.

Demon Wave
Demon Beam sucks damn...
Super Explosive Wave?

Damn, we will have to rename some of these properly and look at all of our options. He's got some crappy names.

Demon Wave and Demon Beam should be the same thing imo. Those are both his strongest attacks and should be the same until he reveals the Explosive Wave.

Piccolo’s explosive wave is a Super Bakurikimaha, pretty much the Super KHH equivalent of the blast Daimao used to blow up the city vs Goku.

DB Wiki says Jr used the Makosen in the beam struggle btw.

Super Explosive Wave > Super Kamehameha = PD's Blast = Kamehameha?

Why would Piccolo Jr have a different special attack then PD here? I guess we are stuck with Makosen.

Makosen = Kamehameha imo.

Super Explosive Wave > Super Kamehameha = PD's Blast = Kamehameha?

I always thought PD’s Blast > Kamehameha. He turned the whole city into a desert!

Either the Bakurikimaha would drain his energy like it did with PD (Unlikely because Jr was much better stamina than his father) or the technique is too destructive (It is called “Explosive Wave”) and he just didn’t want to blow everything up yet.

I’d like to work on the amps for Piccolo’s techniques. I’d say:

Kamehameha: 1.33x
Super Kamehameha: 1.5x

Makosen: 1.33x
Bakurikimaha: 1.5x
Chou Bakuretsumaha: 1.66x

A Kamehameha has destroyed the moon. No way does PD's blast scale above the legendary Kamehameha without clear notice imo.

Ah, I like this line of reasoning, this is a new and improved Demon Wave, better suited for stamina...

Makosen: 1.33x
Bakurikimaha: 1.5x
This is my only dispute. The Makosen should be an improved version of the Demon Wave.

It isn't improve power wise, but stamina wise, thematically fitting in with Piccolo Jr's superior expertise over his father.

Great work.

Someone else’s Kamehameha, though.

I’m using the same logic we use for Nappa > Oozaru Gohan. More destruction = More impressive.

I think the Explosive Wave is the improved Demon Wave. Both have similar names and are Piccolo’s trump card.

When did Kid Goku ever try to make a destructive Kamehameha?

Oozaru Gohan was wildly shooting off Ki blasts and Nappa’s intention was on destruction. That’s why those are compared.

Goku using a targeted Kamehameha is a different class of Ki blast then one used for blowing stuff up.

The idea that King Piccolo possesses a Super Kamehameha level attack that didn’t get the explicit treatment doesn’t sit right with me.

The Explosive Wave is an AoE attack, much different than a beam attack.

Why didn’t Piccolo use the Demon Wave to go after Goku and used the Makoushen instead?

Masenkoh and Makankousappoh were the only named ones in the manga.

@GSM123

I think we are onto something here.

Makosen is the weak 1.1x type of blast. Old PD used it. I think Piccolo might be using it on Warm Up Goku as well.

But then...

I get confused on what attack he's using right before the Super Kamehameha and with that battle with it.

Taking a look at the Daizenshuus for extra info. Here’s what they say:

Daizenshuu 2: Lists the Bakurikimaha as Piccolo Daimao’s greatest technique and the Makosen as a beam-type attack he used to finish Goku. Piccolo Jr has the “Full power shockwave” (Chou Bakuretsumaha), Tsuibi Dan (Literally “Homing Bullet”, but I guess it can be called a variation of the Bakurikimaha), plus non Ki attacks (Gigantification, regeneration, stretching) and Reverse Mafuba.

Daizenshuu 4: This one is full of errors. It also doesn’t differentiate the Piccolos so it’s hard to tell who used what. The Bakuretsu-Makoho (?) is called a “Basic type” (Shot from your hands, like the KHH) and the Bakurikimaha is “Concentration type” (Focused on a single area like fingers or mouth, compared to the Dodonpa and the Makankosappo? Huh?). The explosive wave is considered a “Kiai type”, described here as invisible attacks. That’s not what a Kiai is, but they are invisible so I can see them being lumped together.

Googling it, I think Herms or the Daizenshuu itself mixed the Bakurikimaha and the Bakuretsu-Makoho. The later is translated as “Exploding Mouth Canon”. That makes a lot more sense.

Daizenshuu 7: There’s the Chou Bakuretsumaha and the Makosen (but no specification of when exactly Piccolo Jr used it), but no mention of Bakurikimaha. The homing blast is called a generic ki blast with homing properties. Piccolo Jr (and not Daimao) is also listed as a user of the Masenko, but no mention of him ever using it.

This is a hard topic, huh?

I think I'll just call it a Demon Wave, these names are crazy.

There’s just 3 names that matter here. It just looks confusing because Daizenshuu 4 fucked up.

Makosen: Piccolo's basic ki attack.
Bakurikimaha: Piccolo Daimao's signature technique.
Chou Bakuretsumaha aka Explosive Wave: Piccolo Jr's big explosion.

I think both Mahas were named in the manga, and Makosen is a guidebook name.

In the other thread I explained how the name reflects the difference: "Ha" means wave and "Sen" means beam. In Dragon Ball, waves > beams.

Makosen is the most basic blast you'll come across, it causes next to no destruction. Any attack causing higher level destruction is likely the Bakurikimaha.

Yeah, the destruction levels you pointed out were elite, you should post them here.
