Old Piccolo Daimao went from being around on par with post 22nd Goku, but then he removed his cape and beat him in several hits. How heavy was the cape?

Idk, I don't think it was weighted for some reason. Not even Majunior's cape seemed weighted in the 23rd due to him being able to outmatch Shen-Kami (while weighted Goku was being outdone by Tenshinhan who's far weaker), so I doubt frail old Daimao was wearing heavily weighted gear here.

I’d argue that Post 22nd is straight up>Caped Old Piccolo.
Goku doesn’t even break a sweat and Piccolo is on his ass sweating.

Either the cape was extremely heavy or Piccolo was not putting out much power in
the first exchange.

Looking at both manga and anime it’s unclear. It neither flows away or dent the ground.

I think there would’ve been an emphasis somehow since weighted training was a new thing. Either the cape sinking or a comment from Goku. Just stripping isn’t enough, Roshi also takes his shirt off when fighting Tenshinhan.
