Wasn't Goku still implied to be the stronger than the rest of the Z Senshi at the very end of the fight?

Because everyone was surprised he'd quit? Maybe, but it seems more because it's not an usual attitude from Goku. He always fights til the very end. Him getting his ass handed to a Cell Jr who Vegeta and Trunks could fight evenly would imply he's pretty weak.

@OP Cell Jr stomps. They may give him some moderated trouble, but they ultimately can't win unless Goku pulls a Full Nelson while Piccolo charges a Makankosappo.

Idk. Vegeta tells Trunks to pin his hopes On the thought of Goku having a plan. He already stated that he wouldn’t eat a senzu bean, so it seems like Goku is still the most valuable fighter.. I think his energy continued to decline after he lost his aura.

They probably just really expected a plan since that's what Trunks had been telling himself for 10 days. It has nothing to do with power though, since the idea of a plan was the consequence of Goku saying he's weaker than Cell.

Though if Tired Goku is supposed to be stronger than them that's something... Interesting. Would imply the Cell Jrs were cherry picking their efforts.

Its a strangely written sequence. We have Vegeta saying there is no way in hell Goku will take a bean. Vegeta then says that he could never beat Goku, and that Cell wasn’t just one, but two steps ahead of him. Trunks asks what they can do in the situation, Vegeta references that they have to hope Goku has a plan. Cell had lost a ton of energy, yet a plan from Goku is their only hope? When Goku forfeits, everyone is shocked. Piccolo Even says “what is he thinking1?!”. So in their minds, they trust tired Goku over the rest of the Z Senshi? I agree that it makes no sense, but it seems to be implied.Vegeta even says, “what’s he doing?! There’s no on who can win!,”. Why not give it a shot if he is far stronger than this tired Goku, and Cell was displaying a similar amount of ki..

It’s terrible writing, really...

Yeah, it's written rather weird. Their shock for Goku throwing the towel is only natural, but saying only he stood a chance sounds odd. Specially when this would imply Goku > Vegeta...

I'm going to chalk it up to how they always see Goku as the be all end all. Quoting a producer of the show:
Yamauchi: In the special (“Defiance in the Face of Despair!! The Remaining Super-Warriors: Gohan and Trunks”), there are lines where Bulma is describing Goku. She tells Trunks that he may not be outrageously strong, but he’s a person who gives you the sense that he’d do something about the situation for you, one way or another. If Goku were stupendously strong, the story wouldn’t go anywhere. As soon as Goku came out, it would be over. That’s why, in all of the stories, it first makes you wonder whether it will really be OK even if Goku shows up, then he does something about it.

No matter how strong Goku is, they always look up to him as the answer. Even when he's not as strong as you'd think.

Cell also specifically pointed-out how Goku was losing because he already lost so much power fighting him before.

Let's not also forget that Kuririn implying SSB Goku > Ultimate Gohan in the ToP when all feats and statements point to Chadhan >>> Galu reinforcing this mindset.

As for the topic, I'd say the duo have a chance at winning. Piccolo is already strong enough to still be standing along with Vegeta and Trunks at the end and having MSSJ Galu lose far more than 60-70% of his power from the Kamehameha is a tough pill to swallow. Hell, having him lose much power at all when he wasn't too fatigued by pushing out a Super Kamehameha at the 23rd TB and against The Chaditz especially after training focusing on not losing stamina, but I digress.

Galu should still be relevant enough to act as good support and help Piccolo deal enough damage for the Cell Junior to fatigue itself from regeneration enough to shift the scales.

It's implied, but that same Goku implied to be able to beat everyone still gets smashed by a Junior while Veggie and Trunks are ok.

Kuririn's was straight up talking about Gohan's power tho, not something ambiguous that can be interpreted as respect :tapion2

Cell Junior stomps.

Daizenshuu 7 states that Cell Juniors are equal to Cell himself (Presumably the Cell who fought Gohan before unleashing his Full Power):

El Manga Legendario, another guide, states that Cell Juniors are also equal to Cell himself:

While Both on another entries state that they're on Vegeta's level, Cell Juniors being on Cell's level is a clear cut contradiction that goes against what we saw in both the Manga and Kai. Also, Cell Juniors are shown to be superior to Goku despite the fact that tired MSsj Goku is arguably superior to all the rest of the Z fighters at that point. Cell Junior was shown clapping on everyone. Therefore it's a stomp.

The Cell Jrs are not equal to Cell. That is insanity! Vegeta and Trunks would have been swatted aside like flies!

To be fair, Cell Juniors were just playing around. So Cell Juniors could've swatted them if they wanted. Aside from that, they just "held their own", but they were no match in comparison. Even tired Goku, who's arguably above the rest of the z fighters (but has a disadvantage of having lost most of his stamina), couldn't do shit against them.

Show me where the Cell Juniors were playing around against Vegeta and Trunks. Their facial expressions totally back up your stance.
