Piccolo's Explosive Wave Against Raditz

Doesn't it make sense for the blast to be amped even though Raditz didn't pick any increase of power up?

Otherwise that would mean that Piccolo's own punch is equalevent to the blast he shot at Raditz. Which make no sense to me.

Also in the 23rd Budokai Goku's Super Kamehameha overpowers Piccolo's Explosive Wave which has a PL of 910 So Piccolo's attack is below 910, but still also around a 2,2x

So shouldn't the blast against Raditz be around 715?

Yeah, I think it's our best bet. It's a quick blast.

From what I have seen, it seems so. I think Raditz not picking an amp increase is probably either Toriyama wants to show of Raditz durability without dialogue interrupting or he simply forgot it increases in power

It’s a quick charge blast I see no need for it to be amped.

But it's a special technique and it can't be as strong as his puch and it made Piccolo exhausted

I have Explosive Wave around 700-800~. Still ~2x lower than Raditz power level to no sell it.

Seems unlikely. Raditz showcased 3 varying levels of power, each significantly superior to another. So you'll run into major issues with this because Piccolo's blast must not be more than 50% of suppressed Raditz no matter what.

Your best bet is keeping it unamped. Trust me.

How is than Goku able to take his own Kamehameha and physically stop it, when it's higher than his own PL same for Piccolo who tanked a 910 PL despite being like half thst

On the trip to Namek? Goku can bolster his defenses to brace himself for impact. Raditz is actually tanking the attack, he's completely unbothered. Goku nearly dies.

That's a weakened Goku though. And it's always Ki attack>own power level. Otherwise Ki attacks are a waste of energy.

That isn't true. A punch is not always a 100%. Just like in real life. A standard punch is definitely not anywhere near as powerful as a haymaker and so on.

Majority of ki blasts that are "Ultimate Attacks" barely have any amp on them yet they are still super dangerous. Ki blasts at equal levels can be very dangerous.

I also heard someone say a punch isn't the power level of the person, but portion of it. It's only when they concrete all their Ki to single point where it becomes the full power level hit.

Yeah that’s what makes sense to me. A standard punch shouldn’t be 100% full power.

Yeah, it’s really not a super consistent thing and he’s just trying to make things cool.
