I know what you're thinking and hear me out.

Trunks showed in the late Cell Arc he could push Imperfect Cell away with just his aura in his base form and with seven years of training base Vegeta sits far above him.

I'd argue Trunks used his SSJ form as overkill for Imperfect Cell.

Pui Pui is a prized fighter of Babidi after all plus Supreme Kai was extremely cautious of him and forewarned the Z Fighters.

All things considered, Pui Pui is probably closer to Super Android #13 than he is to Imperfect Cell. That’s how ridiculously overpowered Cell and #16 really are.

Well that was the weakest version of Cell. That Cell was on a earth with considerably less humans and probably wasn't able to absorb many people. He is stronger than the future androids but weaker than his gingertown self.

I still think Pui Pui is weaker than Future Imperfect Cell though since I believe he is multifold below Yakon, who himself was barely a rival to Base Goku.

But that was a base Goku after several years of training in the Other World. And as for barely being a rival he easily absorbed the power of MSSJ Goku - in fact he was able to handle everything up until SSJ2.

In my opinion, given Yakon is stated as not being a competent fighter, I believe he's around Semi Perfect Cell to MSSJ Goku in power.

I also personally believe Pui Pui is better than Imperfect Cell especially going by the stronger enemies every arc logic.

Training gains vary based on the plot. The humans made much better gains on Kami's lookout than Goku did despite Goku being on it for 3 yrs.

Base Goten/Trunks were 18 level and they aren't multiple times weaker than the adult Saiyans. Kamiccolo was multiple times weaker than Peak Imperfect Cell (He took no damage from Piccolo's Light Grenade that 17 even with his barrier wanted nothing to do with and multiple guidebooks confirm that it takes atleast a 2x gap to completely tank).

Being able to absorb something doesn't make you comparable. Yakon while having an advantage being on his home planet of darkness couldn't blitz or do any damage to Goku even before he went SSJ.

You can't just use plot armour to deflect my point of their increase in strength.

Vegeta would have gained a ton given he worked tirelessly over the seven year gap to bridge the difference between he and Gohan and Goku was shooting for the stars then, too. Vegeta had to be ready and capable and/or at a level beyond SSJ2 Gohan.

That brings me to peak Imperfect Cell. Isn't it logical to assume Vegeta would have bridged the gap between the Cell Trunks blew away and him? He was already above Trunks at that point too.

Yakon withstood the energy of a being. He absorbs light, not energy, so he's got to be capable of withstanding that level of force. I could also argue Yakon was toying with him or testing the waters too.

The problem with this is that the relation of the Base Saiyans to the Androids must be understood.

Remember, a severely suppressed Base Vegeta easily KO's Pui Pui.

But you can deflect that argument with the Cell imposition.

Don't really think Vegeta was severely suppressed either unless you believe he walked around actively hiding his ki at all times. Going by his attitude and behaviour I would even suggest he was at his regular fighting power even just to make Supreme Kai happy.
