Alright without scouters, let me know what chain you have. Only Withheld and maybe Ahill really talk about this...

Raditz ( Full Power ) > Raditz ( Increased Power ) > Raditz ( Initial ) > Goku/Piccolo ( UnWeighted ) > Goku/Piccolo ( Weighted )

Something like that I believe.

Goku/Piccolo (weighted) < Goku/Picc (unweighted) < Raditz (initial) < Raditz (fighting) ~Goku KMHMH < Raditz (blocking the KMHMH) < Raditz (dodging the LoD) < Gohan enranged <~> Piccolo LoD

Without the scouter numbers, I'm in doubt whether enranged Gohan is below or above Piccolo's Light of Death.

Well I think that considering one puts a hole in Raditz and the other just knocks the wind out of him, I'm inclined to go with the one that puts a hole in him.

Yeah, but the Light of Death also has pierce properties, which turns it ease to pierce someone. Just like the Kienzan, which has cut properties.

Goku/Piccolo (unweighted) < Raditz (initial) << Kamehameha < Raditz (slowly increasing effort) << Gohan (enraged) ~< Raditz (full power)

Not sure where to place the Makankosappo as it's a piercing attack more than a blunt force attack, so it's capability to inflict damage on an opponent should be judged under different standards IMO. It could be slightly under Raditz's power and still likely PENETRATE him deeply.

I think I'll try to do a power level list without any scouter numbers.

Why does Kamehameha have to be stronger than Raditz's initial power?

Shouldn't all ki blasts have cutting or piercing abilities? Why make one with just a push? Why use anything other than Kienzan?

Because something like the Kamehameha would have a wider area and would be more likely to utterly destroy an opponent than something as pinpoint as a Death Beam. Piercing attacks have their advantages, but they have disadvantages too. A Makankosappo wouldn't do jack shit to Majin Boo, but a full power Kamehameha would.

Why completely obliterate a target when a small pinhole can kill someone. It's like a 9mm vs a rocket launcher. You'd think effectiveness would be key. Judging by how long it took for Piccolo to charge up, it's probably very hard to change it's ability from blunt force to piercing.

Why have a variety of attack types in the first place?

Goku was pretty surprised with Raditz's power after the first attack, with Piccolo saying he didn't show power like this before, which indicates Raditz (fighting) >> Raditz (initial). Yet, Goku was surprised with Raditz blocking his KMHMH, even wondering what is he made of.

Not every chi blast have the same properties. Vegeta told Nappa to dodge Kuririn's Kienzan, otherwise he'd have his face cut off. Kuririn's Kienzan also was able to cut Freeza's tail and make this latter dodge them. #18's Kienzan also forced Trunks and Goten to dodge it and be somewhat worried. Piccolo's Light of Death is a beam type attack, which due to its small area has a greater piercing power. It's also described this way in the Daizenshuu.

There shouldn't be any other type than Kienzan imo. That should be the go to, unless dealing with someone who can regenerate. Which was only two characters in the whole series.

But regarding Raditz's level of efforts, he showed at least 3 different ones imo. At least, I personally go with four.

I don't know why there exists kiais, heat-seekers, bending attacks, delayed attacks, etc. if Kienzan is the best thing around. I'm just saying, shit seems funky there.

Huge ki blasts like the Kamehameha can actually vaporize someone, while the Kienzan might fail if the opponent has haxxed durability like Freeza.

The makkankohippoptamus would be worthless against anyone with good regeneration for example.

I also think Raditz raised his power when dodging the Light of Death, @withheldforprivacy. Look at Piccolo, he even says no one can move so fast.

Freeza was as good as dead, chopped in half without Goku's ki.
