Luffy does comment that his armament haki is stronger than anyone he's ever fought. I doubt that finishes it, but it just gives us an idea of how powerful gear 4th really is.

His armament may be dope but Doffy was able to dodge g3 like nothing. Doffy's awakening would probably be too troublesome for Cracker

Cracker didn't need to dodge gear 3rd. He shrugged it off like it was nothing.

Cracker also didn't take a gamma knife while holding up a birdcage. We'll see next chapter if Cracker gets up or not and if he does, how bad he does against g4

Cracker's armament makes him really good against people below him that even if they have some advantage he'd still win. Dofla on the other hand can compete with people well on his own tier and above better imo due to his versatility.

Yeah clearly with doffy it came down to his ability. I'm not sure what Crackers ability is, but he hasn't really shown anything other than multiplying his arms/weapons. Doffy had the ability to heal himself, awaken etc. Which is clearly greater than anything Cracker has done so far even if his haki is stronger.

There's no way a Yonko top dog is gonna go down with one hit like that, Luffy just caught him by surprise.
