So besides Champs and Princess Zelda(Lady Whis looks cute like Zelda). We're not getting new content until after they remake the movies into arcs? Not counting the slice of life episodes of course.
I don't understand why they even bothered to make the new movies if they're just going turn them into arcs and re-tell them in Super.
Will the movies be non-canon now or what?
Well, we don't know exactly what'll go down as of yet. Perhaps in Japan they'll air the two movies at appropriate times so Japanese viewers can fully understand the plot of the series. I'd hope this to be so, since from what info's been given, the first 3 episodes seem to be very slow slice of life flicks. I'd hate to see it take 20-50 episodes just for the Universe 6 Arc to begin.
I would guess that because of the amazing success of BoG and RoF at the box office Toei see those story arcs as guaranteed ratings on TV - if they are different (i.e. more detailed) enough to warrant people who have already seen those movies also watching them as a series.
Personally, I love it because I loved the BoG story and think there is a lot of potential to expand upon it. For example, Super has the opportunity to establish the depth of Vegeta's relationship with his family to explain his outburt as Beerus. Thankfully, it looks like episode 2 of Super will do this.
