Roger couldn't beat Big Mom

I've seen a lot of people suggesting that Big Mom was far below Kaido recently. What about the fact that Roger couldn't even beat her? He opted to steal her poneglyph while he was in his prime. Prime Roger >= Big Mom ?

I'd argue the same for Garp and Sengoku. Did Roger's crew just decide not to intervene during their duels or is Bogard actually a Yonko level subordinate? I can't believe they actually kept the balance of power.

It's not worth it. It's not worth going toe to toe with her if there's another way and she hasn't done anything to incur his honour violence or deterrent violence (whichever it is that motivated Shanks to take out Bartholemeo and Kidd). He's not going to walk away unscathed and neither would his crew.
Even Luffy I'm not sure is opposed to avoiding a fight and just sneaking around or running away. Dunno if Luffy would steal a poneglyph like Roger though.

But his crew has 3 people near equal to Roger. Big Mom's crew is dogwater.
