In the movie itself there's never any indication that they ever transform beyond SSJ1.

I'd rather trust what happened in the film over promotional material, if the animators wanted SSJ2 to appear in the film... it'd have been clearly telegraphed. Like having Gohan start off as SSJ against SSJ Broly... instead, you know, being equal to his SSJ form while in base form.

It is shown in the film tho. This is moments before the KHH overpowered Broly. How did they go from losing the beam struggle to decimating Broly if their powers didn't change? It looks pretty evident in these images that Goku's hair is depicted as SSJ2 while Goten is clearly shown as a SSJ despite both of them having the same SSJ hair.

Here's the actual gif of the moment, that shows it from a better angle. Their hair is literally being pushed back from the force of the Kamehameha, unless you want to argue that Goten also has SSJ2. There's an argument to be made that it was literally a lack of confidence from Gohan's part and that he hadn't gone all out against Broly, if we base it off of Goku's words. This can be supported by the fact that earlier in the film... SSJ Gohan was fully capable of briefly overpowering Broly in strength.

Not quite. The screencaps I took are from before that moment. You can see Goku's hair change before any additional force was put into the KHH that would have created that effect from the wind. When Goku starts yelling in the 3rd pic is when they increased the energy into the KHH. His hair was already set..

The screen cap you showed was just as they fired the Kamehameha, even when they kept on pouring energy into the Kamehameha they're hair kept on moving back and forth. And they all have "similar" hair, even Goten, so is Goten also SSJ2? I just don't see this supposed SSJ2, nothing suggests it except for one promotional poster.

Yeah they do, you've got 3 blurry images from far away that show all of them having spiky widow heads... exactly like SSJ2. I'll raise another up, even if they're all SSJ2, then where is the lightning aura?
