Zoro needed Asura to beat Kaku. Even assuming he got stronger post Enies Lobby, I can't see it being by that much in Thriller Bark.

I agree. It kind of goes to show skill matters a lot more right? I think the zombies retain the raw strength of the alive body but with a different mind. So Ryuma lost to Zoro only because he had Brook's personality and lack of Haki.

I'm not sure that they keep their raw strength. Oars was said to pull continents together but wasn't even able to beat the Straw Hats?
