You said she thinks he's gross. If they're friends, how is he "gross"? If she calls him an affectionate term like "kun", how is he "gross" in her opinion?

Talking about "simp", "friendzone" (which is real and applies here, but also not something that reflects poorly on the one experiencing unrequited romantic/sexual attraction) is just silly.
I don't really think he's a "simp" anyway. He does it regardless of any desire for reciprocity. He genuinely cares in the case of Nami, and in the case of other women I guess it's just his morals (not that I agree with them), or maybe projecting his relationship with his sister too.
