Should the kids be more used?

I think one thing that annoys me is the fact that the kids are getting shafted aside while the earthlings apparenty get more of a role than them, despite their massive potential.

Definitely. They were hyped up as the new big thing in the Boo Arc and both the end of the Z anime as well as one of the last few episodes of GT alluded to the point of them taking up the mantle as Earth's defenders, yet Super chose to waste them completely due to nostalgia bias for other characters.

Yeah. I see no other reason not to use them other than nostalgia. I mean, I wished more action from the earthlings before Super was even a thing, but not like that.

What makes it even more damaging is that the directors of the anime believed the Earthlings were still weaker than SSJ Goten/Trunks. Regardless of how accurate you consider that due to the feats displayed, the kids had potential to be used yet were completely shafted.

Still, at least the ToP had a focus on skilful teamwork being a factor (as pointless as it ended up being) as an excuse. There's no reason, however, for them to be sidelined in the Moro Arc when even Chaozu played a part in the battle that only amounted to him insulting Ten's opponent .

Yeah, it'd be better if they just gave a reason for the earthlings to have progressed that much, therein explaining from a power perspective them being chosen instead of the kids. Still dumb though as the earthlings and fucking Roshi reaching that level of power is laughable. I think they don't even know what the feats they showcase the earthlings achieving mean, though... if asked, the directors would likely say they are still way behind Namek Freeza.

Yea. In the Boo arc they showed great interest in the events that impacted the world and wanted to be involved. In Super they've been turned into ghosts. I can't even remember if they've been seen in Super, which goes to show how little of focus they've had. It's disappointing when they were said to be the next generation who would be responsible for protecting Earth in the Boo arc.
