Yes, I am actually going to do this. I really don't want to start at Episode 1 though. Does anyone have a good starting point for me?

I'd skip the movie retellings and even the U6 vs U7 tournament all in all is kind-of inconsequential. If you want to get to the really good stuff start with the Future Trunks Saga.

Yeah I'd probably just recommend skipping the first 2 arcs if you've watched the movie since the additions really don't change anything in the long run, although other than establishing the characters of Frost and Cabba most of the pre-Hit episodes in the U6 arc are pretty meaningless too.
