Some people wonder whether Vegeta was a SSJ when fighting the androids in future Trunks' timeline... for all it's worth, in a bonus story, Toyotaro illustrated some scene about the fight against the androids and Vegeta was seen in base only:

He was killed by #17 and #18 during the time in which it took for Gohan and Bulma to get there. Toyotaro just wanted to make it obvious to the readers.

His reaction also seems pretty minimal, considering his death has lead to the Z-Warriors' main plot armour being removed. You'd expect more emotion from him than the kind of face he makes when tolerating Gotenks.

Considering by the time they arrived, Shenron was only able to say a sentence before being destroyed, I doubt Pilaf not making the wish would've made a difference. So...if anything it improved Trunks' life by offering him a gf.

But who the fuck knows. Gohan just leaving and leaving the Z Fighters there is whacky. I always imaginated without Goku Chi-Chi actually stopped Gohan from going to the battlefield.

Trunks literally says that he escaped from battle, no? I imagine he either got knocked out and the Androids thought he was dead, or someone like Pikkoro bought him time to escape.
