Trunks did bring them down in the seconds. He held Freeza's Supernova with one fucking hand with no effort at all, and then proceeded to cut Freeza in half. After that, he one-shotted King Cold with a ki blast.

The fight was shorter than Janemba vs. Gogeta in "Fusion Reborn" if you count only the fight scenes.
