There are certain differences but I agree, even-though I’d still take the movie’s version over the manga unless stated otherwise (like if AT’s in his life-time said the manga over-rides the movie), but the manga just added stuff so it might be OK.

Hmm, well I think I'd go the opposite. The manga changes movie things for good reason. The movies don't have a true universe, the manga has a true universe, a movie verse would be very incomplete.

I mean movies that have a manga/anime-series counter-part. Obviously for example the Future Trunks saga I’d have to take the manga (but even then maybe only the common-points since that’s what AT almost definitely told both Toei & Toyotaro).

The movie and manga for Super (as well as the anime to a lesser extent) is a complex situation as far as canon is concern since the manga is written by Toyotaro instead of AT. AT just gives Toyo notes. Toyo is the one that actually writes the story out. The movie is probably mostly Toriyama influenced but Toei likely adds scenes to it since it's still animated.

Toei definitely added all the fight scenes in the Super Hero movie at the very least. Maybe even the Broly movie. Based on AT calling the script he gave to Toei for RoF a bunch of notes, it seems Toei added a lot of fluff to the fight scenes as well there.

Vegeta's durability holds up somewhat better than last time, but he gets bodied when Buu's done playing. Excluding his fleeting moment of rage (which we scan scale because of Roshi's assessment of him), the idea that he surpassed a tier's worth of power doesn't seem implied.

It was implied that SSJ1 Goku was a match for Kid Boo.

Every fight in modern DB has Goku start in lower forms. “If he were weaker he would’ve transformed” isn’t an argument in DBS.

Remember when SSJ Goku was fighting Majin Doo? And at least that fight happened. Goku vs Boo was cut before it started.

There’s nothing with with Suppressed SSJ Goku ~ Kid Buu. Toyo gave us a great bit of logic with that one.

But he didn’t give anything. He flat out refused to when he had Goten distract Goku.

If the image training had ended before Goku killed Freeza, would that mean Goku ~ Freeza?

Do you think SSJ3 Goku is weaker than Ultimate Gohan in Battle of Gods?

The intention is that Goku plans on scrapping with Kid Buu in his Super Saiyan form. That’s what is logical for power scaling as well.

SSJ Goku has been previously established to be well beyond Freeza. The logical course of action would be to assume Goku was suppressed. Goku also dominated the fight with Freeza the entire time as well.

Out of all training methods, image training would be last on the list in terms of translating to logic. A statement comparing a character to a previous powerhouse, or actual feats, carry vastly more weight. When dealing with something that's imagination-based as this training method would indicate, it's hardly something to dwell on.

@GSM123 Goku has maintained a status in which, even when not the strongest, he carries hope for the team and dire situations at large. With that being said, I'd still lean towards Goku having the edge at this stage since Roshi used him as a benchmark for scaling enraged Vegeta. Do you think BoG Gohan is weaker than Buu Arc U. Gohan?

Image training is 100% legit. You can take the image training of SSJ Goku vs Perfect Cell to the bank.

I think Gohan should be weaker, but SSJ3 Goku probably surpasses peak Gohan as well to reflect his top dog spot.
