Most likely it's ending so that the animation staff can work on the movie. I'm sure they'll make a new series sometime next year.

I find it sad that Toei only has the resources to effectively (lol) make 1 product at a time. With the amount of money they rake in, they should have no trouble creating a team to work on Super, and a team to do the film. Fuck this film, and fuck Super tho, so I don't care.

I thought it was going to be a break for the movie.

I don't see any way they could keep the series going though. ToP is pretty much endgame with all characters of all universes appearing and being beaten.

I'm pretty sure they'll find a way. After all, two Arcs in a row was about body stealing. There's that theory about Daishinkan being evil.

It was inevitable. Super's existence has already contradicted/retconned a lot of info from the end of the manga such as Bulma and Goku not having seen each other for 5 years or Vegeta's awareness of Oob, so trying to stretch out the plot any further would be nonsensical. Most likely, we'll get a post-Z sequel after the movie utilising a few ideas from the DBO lore. At the very least, it'll be leagues above DBS due to being an actual Dragon Ball sequel and not just being a 100+ episode filler arc masquerading as a continuation.

They also need to work on the Kitaro anime which will take over Super's time slot since it's pretty important to Japan (Probably one of the reasons it had to end).

Highly doubt Toriyama remembers a single thing from that game.

I think his staff may at least still maintain hints of it. After all, Tenshinhan having a dojo is quite similar to him forming the Shin Tsuru-ryu school in DBO, so either he or the Dragon Room team may rework a few elements into the series.

I mean, One Piece has the resources to maintain their garbage anime and create better films on the side, I'd figure with this new Dragon Room nonsense, they'd be able to make it happen.

I'm not saying they CAN'T work on both simultaneously, but unless you want +9 months of horrendous animation to deal with then this is the best route they can go far. This film will have a much higher budged than any DB film that came before. And there's also Kitaro.

I hope that the One Piece anime goes on hiatus as well, although I doubt they would do this as they can make more money continuing to fill their weekly TV slots with the current looping scenes of the strawhats running on the spot for half an episode.
