I find 4's design more creative, although the hair being black and the shirt disappearing always struck me as odd, as did your pants magically growing back.

SSJG was bleeeeh, but after Toriyama had to dish out a form with 5 foot long hair I could see why he opted for a simpler design. SSJB is just a complete failure.

Attainment-wise, the god forms have my vote. Turning Ozaru while SSJ seems too cheap and ordinary for an ultimate Saiyan form imo. A new SSJ with a power ball could do that.

SSJ4 looks cooler but SSJB is the superior form.

SSJ4 because it isn't a palette swap. I know SSJG isn't, but aside from getting skinnier, and getting pupils that look like you're heavily on drugs, it's more or less the same.

Super Saiyan 4 is literally worlds above any DBS form. SSJG is a base color & aura swap and and SSJB is a SSj color & aura swap, whereas Super Saiyan 4 rehashes the "feral Saiyan" concept(which was extremely cool and it is a shame it was rendered useless post Saiyan Arc), it has a great design & it is much more badass.

SSJ4 >>> SSJB in terms of design and badassery is practically undisputable when comparing the two side-to-side.

Super Saiyan 4. The mixture of Great Ape & Super Saiyan traits is a cool concept that the artist(s) executed really well via this transformation, in my opinion.

I personally prefer Super Saiyan 4 - even though I wouldn't classify it as a Super Saiyan stage, more or so a transformation in its own. "Primal Saiyan" is what I would call it. That's what I love about it the most, personally; because it was its own original thing and definitely was a take away from the generic spiky golden hair extension we were so used to seeing. Design wise, it looked extremely bad ass and even though I found the concept of Goku somehow changing clothes and height from the transformation to be a tad bit odd, I looked over it.

Plus, that transformation sequence definitely was the best transformation sequence we've gotten since Goku's first ascension to SS. It was really peaceful and soothing, especially with the smooth instrumental of Dan Dan playing in the background. I loved seeing that hallucination of naked adult Goku reaching out to Earth before the camera zoomed in on his eye and a tear was seen dropping onto the ground.

I've never really been a fan of the whole god concept since Battle of Gods first came into the picture. I personally would've preferred it if the Hakaishin and Super Saiyan God were never introduced. SSG and SSB are both simplistic and boring to look at (even though the auras do look awesome). It would've made more sense if the first SSG was called "Saiyan God" and SSGSS was called "Super Saiyan God," seeing as the first SSG favors Goku's base and the second his SS form. But, whatever -- you can't expect much from Toriyama, who is a rather basic guy himself.

I read that Yamamuro had an entirely different concept design for Super Saiyan God but it was ultimately scrapped for Toriyama's version. 'Tis a shame, I would've liked to see Yamamuro's take on it. Though, I heard it involved the user wearing a cape... Not sure how I feel about that, nor could I imagine it.

It's a tad bit strange how I don't care for SSG or SSB yet I absolutely love SSR.. probably because of its aura (those fuckin' auras, man!). But, yeah. Over all, I definitely say Super Saiyan 4 >> Super Saiyan God, Blue, Green, Purple, White, Rainbow, and whatever else Toriyama pulls out of his ass in the future.

Super Saiyan Anorexic God is dramatically awful. What a shitfucking hose-blowing piece of garbage. Everything about it is disgusting. Super Saiyan Blue isn't much better, but at least it doesn't make the user look like they haven't eaten in six months.

Super Saiyan 4 is clearly the better vision here.

I gotta give it to 4. Yes, there are issues with it like the pants and color scheme not really making sense but creative wise? It's probably the only SS form that had any actual thought put into it. I also really like how you need to become a pissed of, rampaging, monster in a literal sense and then regain your last shred of sanity to attain it, making it a nice subversion of the "Grr! I'm angry now!" of most of the previous, main forms.

You think SSG should have look like this lol. This was the original design.

It was actually gonna look closer to this:

Toriyama wanted it to remain close to Goku's Base form which I appreciate but I dislike how BoG apparently set up a status quo where Base & SS would be the only forms moving forward. Something that's progressively been lost and convoluted with time.

Is that official? For some-reason looks like it.

Didn't they show the original design somewhere anyway?
Its not, its just really good fanart.

The original design for it was never shown to us, only that rough fan art of it we have from the description. This was when it was marketed as "the film in-between Z and GT!" and had no involvement from Toriyama, meant to serve as an in-between form of 3 and 4. Toriyama's involvement changed a lot of that. Not just its design but the tone as well.

I must be the minority that would've hated had Super Saiyan God turned out to be just a golden rehash of SS4.
