I don't have chain but Trunks should be at least there in Goku's league and Piccolo isn't coming close to that.

Piccolo was higher than Regular Goku it seemed to me, but then Trunks doesn't have God-Ki, IIRC so his Super-Saiyan power-up is probably still as it was before (as in before God power-ups made it seem as if Super-Saiyan wasn't worth it).

It seems to me that Goku and Vegeta doesn't have god ki anymore and can sense god ki only if they're both are SSGB. Base Goku and Vegeta should be at least as stronger than SS2 Vegito given that Freeza is as strong as Bootenks or Boohan.

Where was that said? Didn't Whiss say that during their training their regular states need to go up in-order to sense God-Ki and it was slowly getting there?

Goku turned into a SSJ2 in order to block hits from SSJ2 Trunks, instead of staying in base form or whatever. Trunks should be far ahead of Piccolo even as a regular Super Saiyan.
