Do you like how Super is treating the support cast, which basically consists of other than Vegeta and Goku?

I'd say I'm a little contraditory on this one. When we hadn't the prospect of there existing a continuation to DB I always used to feel bad about the show not making the earthlings to stand out too much besides them being present to have some dialogues and so be it. But now I find myself criticizing the way they're presented, saying picking Goten and Trunks over them would be better. Well, maybe not nedessarily contradictory but at least expecting a little consistency in their presentation.

In regards to other than the Earthlings, I think Gohan and Piccolo could shine more though as they have a more reasonable case for doing so due to their potential, specially Gohan.

There are characters that get wanked way too much way too fast like ToP Gohan and #17, and then there are characters that never get any spotlight at all like Goten and Trunks. So, I'm a little conflicted on this as well I guess. I'd say the amount of spotlight (and asspull power ups) that Piccolo gets is about fine for all of them, and some get wanked excessively more than that while others are just shafted like the two Saiyan kids.

Overall, Super's doing as bad a job with its support cast as it is in writing Galu and Vegeta consistently. Leaving aside power scaling, the character arcs of most of them either end up relegated to a shell of their former self (Piccolo and Tenshinhan being jobbers) or constantly regressing any sort of development they provide a character (Gohan regaining his fighting spirit only to flip-flop in his commitment in the anime ToP and get stomped in the Moro Arc, Kuririn regaining his fighting spirit in the anime only to get oneshotted by Frost). Kuririn's handling in particular was disappointing when the anime's early arcs did a decent job showing his daily life and development. The only characters handled decently in Super would be #17 and Roshi when ignoring the power scaling associated with them.

would you say gohan slacking off is a bad character moments though, CC? he made clear against cell that he doesn't like fighting, and he trained beforehand due to requirement from strong enemies threatening them. his life passion seems to be commiting to study and academics.

I'm not talking about him slacking off, that much is in character. I'm talking about how anime ToP Gohan constantly flip-flopped between being prepared to use his full power and then suppressing himself in the next episode (eg. letting non-Golden Freeza smack him around when not seemingly aware of the latter's plan, letting Saonel and Pirina give him and Piccolo trouble until the very end of their fight, etc.). At the very most, he should've stopped being so indecisive once he went all out against Obuni as that'd serve as character development, but that didn't happen. Manga Gohan is treat as a big deal at the ToP, yet is reduced to a jobber in the Moro Arc despite not being suggested to have slacked off.

Also, whilst he doesn't like to fight as much as his father, it's arguable whether or not Boo Arc Gohan liked to fight more than he let on. He does think about wanting to face his father and see how strong he's gotten at the Budokai, after all, not to mention demanding he get his turn against Dabura.

I'm fine with the support cast having their screentime as long as it doesn't feel forced into a narrative where they have no place in. For instance, I'm fine with people other than Goku and Vegeta taking part in the battles during RoF and the Tournament of Power arc, but it would feel very out of place if either Gohan or #17 came in and starting swapping hands with Broli out of nowhere.
