phpBB is what Kanzenshuu runs on, right? I prefer some of ZetaBoard's features over phpBB's, personally.

And the thing is, once you have a phpBB board, you should be able to switch to any forum type of your choice, such as vBulletin.

Well, based off Kanzenshuu (I'm assuming Zeta would end up being relatively similar) there's very few nitpicks like not being able to put a spoiler in a spoiler or how quoting works, but they're only minor. Nothing all that important.

If you think switching to phpBB would be better, then go for it.

I would personally prefer phpBB, maybe only for my previous experience with it.

It would seem that there are many. This topic I am reading is about 40 pages long, filled with people converting.

I've known forums to switch just fine. No experience with a Zetaboards switch though.

phpBB is free, so I guess that's an advantage. I've never liked the look of phpBB boards though and back when I ran one it was really hard to deal with spammers (one thing Zeta seems to be good at doing). If I had to gander it's one of the reasons Kazen has so many issues verifying new accounts. They need to filter all the spambots and find the real users.

Also, from phpBB, you can export your forum to other types like VB, I believe. So we wouldn't have to stay there.
