Vegeta's comment to 17 before heading out to ToP should seal the deal on this. The source material indicates that Kid Trunks pre-ToP is as strong as Future Trunks is as the CG. We also have no indications that the boys have lost any power. What's more likely seems to be that they have maintained their Post-Rosat power by doing what they normally did to maintain their power previously. Probably playing around and doing the most basic stuff. That's how they got their immense power in the first place.

So... We can conclude several things here with such a rock solid statement with the feats (the fight vs the Cell Jrs) to back it up.



Piccolo > Base Future Trunks (CG) = Base Kid Trunks (Post Rosat) > Base Kid Trunks ~ Android 18


Ssj Teen Gohan > Super Saiyan Goku (CG) > Ssj Future Trunks (CG) = Ssj Kid Trunks (Post Rosat) > Ssj Trunks


So when we incorporate all of this, the boys power suggestions in the Buu Saga are a bit over done. We all thought they were close to Gohan, but they aren't anywhere close. Teen Gohan is even above Goku's power at the CG and Goku's power is way stronger than Future Trunks level at the CG.

This is the definitive placement for the boys and all logic should run through this.

Base Goten and Trunks are already on par with 18/17 level, they then improve hugely and are still behind Piccolo. Piccolo cannot be 17 level since that would occupy the space the Pre-Rosat boys are, Piccolo is beyond even the Post-Rosat boys.

It could be added to it. The CG suggests Piccolo is nearing Cell Jr level, but he seems to have left himself enough space to do what he did in the Buu Saga. Piccolos role in the Buu Saga was to play jobber to Kaioshin and the Base Saiyans.

Don’t know but he does, his dialogue implies it. Perhaps 18 has brought it up over the years and he applied the logic to 17.

Videl can fend off poachers, the power statement is clear. Your bias is leading you to some wild interpretations. It’s certainly sounder logic than your personal preference for their strength.

I think I vaguely remember a post about this on Neo, and unfortunately his reading of that statement is as straightforward as it gets. Of course, Kid Trunks would finger click Androids Trunks, so stop complaining and help me figure this out. There’s three options on the table:

a) The statement is not a literal power comparison;
b) Vegeta knew 17 was watching the Cell Games;
c) This is manga only and doesn’t count.

Until we manage to prove one of the three premises above, this is bulletproof evidence Trunks is Androids Saga level, not proof that Kid Trunks = CG Trunks.

Head canon is irrelevant, quality debate and progression is the only reason to do this. My time is limited.

B is clearly the right option. Vegeta implies by his statement he knows 17 could see the action at the CG. The proof is the context to the dialogue, Vegeta already knows this.

You don’t get to reinterpret something because you didn’t see it. It’s like saying Goku didn’t tell Buu someone stronger than him will come in two days.

Your logic here is atrocious. You are better than this.
