What did you think of Toriyama's explanation that Goten and Trunks were able to become (mastered) Super Saiyans so easily because of the tranquil environment they lived on (Earth)? I actually think this makes more sense than we gave it credit for, because you could say the tranquil nature of a mastered Super Saiyan allows for a huge increase in S-Cells, which explains why Gohan and Galu got such huge gains in less than one year in the RoSaT than Vegeta and Trunks did in 2 despite training harder without rest, and it could explain why the Saiyans who achieved SSJ2/3 (prior to Subpar) were FPSSJs, their increased S-Cell count helped correctly ascend instead of incorrectly doing so with the flawed grade forms.

There's precedent, wasn't Future Trunks already SSJ in that one prequel chapter Toriyama published?

There's precedent, wasn't Future Trunks already SSJ in that one prequel chapter Toriyama published?

He was but he was extremely weak. Was tired from sparring with a one armed base Gohan whose SSJ was weaker than Yardrat Goku. Probably only recently attained SSJ through Gohan's guidance. The reason that the future Gohan and Trunks duo had such weak base levels despite training harder than Goten and Trunks in the present could be attributed to them having less S-Cells because of the horrible environment they grew up under thanks to the 17 and 18 twins.
