Also why did Vados say that Kefla might be unmatched on the battlefield when Jiren was there?

Gohan >= Kefla SSJ > Jiren (Suppressed vs Hit) >> Jiren (Initial) >> Goku PSSJB + Hit >>> Goku PSSJB = Hit.

CSSJB level. I've seen nothing to suggest they're actually far above it, or even particularly strong.

Out of universe: Toyo's just an awful writer. In universe: Caulifla's battle sense + Kale's power = powerful warrior.

You think they were this strong? Don't you think people would be freaking out about Jiren being surpassed by the likes of Gohan? I really can't see the power that Jiren used to break out of Hit's Time Stop being surpassed. Krillin even went as far as to rhetorically ask if Gohan could surpass Goku if he kept up his training. I don't think they should be leagues above the CSSJBs based on this.

Vados said she may be unmatched in the battlefield, so she’s on the same level as Jiren breaking out of Hit’s Time Cage. That was the highest power displayed on the field up to that point.

Did Jiren even show interest in fighting her tho?

Kefla does grab Jiren's attention when she's clobbering Kahseral and Dyspo, but he tells Goku he doesn't need to fight her. He's pretty annoyed that she's beating up his mates, but that's because he hates to see them needing his help all the time. Doesn't speak much about her power though. He also doesn't look very concerned when she blasts him and Goku.

I'm thinking Goku might have been getting stronger just by fighting Jiren. Vegeta confirmed in one of the latest fighters that Saiyans do get stronger mid fight and even Granolah was powering up, and since Gohan got a boost why not Goku? It's nothing significant (at least not as significant as Gohan going from base level to beyond PSSJB level), just enough for him to close the gap between himself and Gohan/Kefla by the time Kuririn says that line.

How would Krillin even know that though? He can't sense CSSJB Goku even if he was getting stronger.

No idea tbh. Piccolo could tell Goku was stronger in the Moro Saga, but current Piccolo is like, Kefla level while we don't even know if Kuririn ever reached Namek Freeza.

What if Kuririn just thought Goku was also improving regardless if he did or not? That at least explains why he'd think Gohan wasn't stronger than Goku.

Maybe, but we saw just earlier that he was about equal to Hit, and there wasn't much of a time lapse between that and Krillin's comment iirc.

Well Gohan did get as strong as Kefla just by fighting her. I’m not sure how this is supposed to work, but looks like it’s a instant power up.

Ch. 39, pg. 7.1-2
Piccolo: “That’s Gohan for you. Regaining his sense of battle was all he could do in that brief period of training, but he’s managed to grow stronger than ever during this fight.”
Krillin: “Whoa… Talk about innate talent… Makes you wonder if he could get stronger than Goku if he quit his day job and devoted himself to training!!”

Which is hilarious because he had been fighting her for about 5 panels before Piccolo said that. Super power ups are atrocious.

He also easily deflects a blast aimed for Jiren and Goku, so apparently he was already getting stronger even before engaging her :punk

The manga doesn't do this sort of asspull as often as the anime, but this here is worse than anything the anime has done. The anime at least uses some sort of broken Zenkai mechanic that the fighters get stronger from minimal injuries and rest. But here? Gohan literally got stronger out of the blue to fight Kefla.
