Scenario: Vegeta and Bulma get together as in canon, but they never have a child. Androids attack as in canon
and everybody gets killed. Over the following years, at some point, Gohan, who has just hit puberty, is afraid
of dying a virgin, gets a panic attack, Bulma steps in to comfort him and one thing leads to another. Trunks
is born a few years later than in canon, Gohan is killed by Androids as expected and Trunks travels to the past.
How does this affect everything?
-Does Trunks being younger mean he's weaker and therefore cannot transform into Super Saiyan? How does
Mecha Saga go?
-Is Trunks worried that, if the world is saved, he'll never be born in this timeline? Does he inform Bulma? Does
he plead her, even if she remains with Vegeta, to seduce Gohan after a few years so that his existence won't
be jeopardized? Does Vegeta care?
-How is Buu Saga affected?

I swear I've seen this doujin before and it was a good read.

I wonder if someone wrote about a child between Bulma and Baby, it could happen if Baby was heterosexual.

Considering how a 8-9 year old Trunks was stronger than his 17-20 year old self despite the latter's far more harrowing experiences, I'd say their power wouldn't be affected if the plot required it, not to mention having inherited Gohan's godlike potential as Pan did. If anything, that might make this Trunks stronger than his canon self, though likely not by enough to affect the plot tremendously. Everything goes the same until the Cell Games, in which Vegeta doesn't attack Cell recklessly and instead, Gohan beats Cell after a tough fight. In the Boo Arc, the lack of Trunks means no fusion, so Goku destroys Boo when he has the chance. Without enough living Saiyans for the God ritual, Beerus remains asleep as in Future Trunks' timeline. Freeza kills everyone when he makes his training GAINZ and grows his empire. He'd likely find Broly and at some point in time, would probably do something to make Broly lose control and kill him. Beerus then wakes up and has an even fight against Broly's full power, ultimately winning just barely due to superior skill. Broly is then trained by Whis as a Hakaishin candidate, with Broly stopping Moro when he breaks out of prison before things escalate. Zamasu never enacts his Zero Mortal plan and the Tournament of Power never happens. As for Future Trunks' timeline, it remains peaceful after Trunks kills Dabura. Both timelines would eventually be erased by Zen-Oh due to the ToP never happening.

Goku did not seem willing to reveal his SSJ3 form before Mr Popo bringing up the kids fusion idea.

There would be no chance of that happening in this timeline, so Goku would see there was no other option.
