Ok let's start with some power chains.


Nappa (vs Dragon Team) >=Masenko > Kikoho > Enraged Gohan > Piccolo


Piccolo > Tien > Krillen > Yamcha > Saibamen >= Raditz

Now there's the whole discussion of Goku's power level vs Nappa. I think someone mentioned that Krillen made a statement implying Nappa > 5,000, however, it's possible only the scouter is properly picking up Goku's power at this point and his power is suppressed from a ki sensing standpoint, which would be able to explain what Krillen is saying.

Goku = Over 8,000 >= Nappa (Calm) > Nappa Powered Up Further > Nappa (vs Dragon Team) > Initial Nappa

Masenko did no damage and nothing tops an Enraged Gohan's full power. Despite Kikoho failing, Piccolo still thought Gohan would be the one to defeat the Saiyans.

So that definitely can't work.

Maybe too tight because Piccolo wondered whether Nappa was immortal after receiving the Kikoho. But that would force Piccolo too way down.

I can't go any lower than that with Piccolo.

I think it can be argued for the Kikoho to be above the Masenko since Piccolo expected Gohan to do the job when Piccolo would squeeze Nappa's tail, that is, weaken him. That would make things more swift.

Why is Nappa only >= Masenko? He didn't really struggle to punch it. It's a bigger gap than KKx20 Goku vs 50% Freeza. Piccolo always wanted Gohan to attack a weakened/off guard Nappa.

I'm not sure if Initial Nappa > 5k Goku, Kuririn is just being pessimistic. 5k Goku was blitzing Nappa.

Nappa was well above the Masenko
He could actually deflect it with his hand and he only said that it itched his hand. I think the story implies Gohan's Masenko was the strongest, but it seems to be too tight. Plus, Tenshinhan's Kikoho actually affected Nappa a bit. It was almost similar to Vegeta's blast vs Recoome. Though Nappa was off guard but he still got his armor torn apart and was full of bruises. Even if I ignore the official power levels for the humans, I would still have Piccolo at 2,350, and it's still hard to fit.

Krillen- So how much confidence do you have that you'll win?

Piccolo- None! I never dreamed there was such power. They far outstrip the Saiyan who came before.

I think we could start working on this blast blocking/deflecting stuff.

Raditz vs Goku: At least 1.29x gap, let’s round it up to 1.33x. Raditz struggles to block but isn’t hurt.

50% Freeza vs KKx20 Goku: Somewhere between 1.1-1.2x gap. Freeza struggles to block and burns his hand.

Nappa vs Gohan: Nappa punches it. Not as hurt as Freeza. Definitely more impressive.

4000 figure might be right after all

Raditz ran away from Goku’s Kamehameha like a bitch and all he could do was stop it dead on it’s tracks. Nappa faced the Masenko like a man and changed it’s course.

Unless Raditz just had his nails done, he can’t punch away the Kamehameha like that.

Ki blasts don’t bounce off like basketballs do. They land and blow up.

Deflecting is more impressive than blocking. Blocking you’re just neutralizing the force, deflecting you’re not only neutralizing but adding force in the other direction.

Taking the blast on your hands is impressive, but not as impressive as changing it’s course and not having it explode on your hand.

The question is stupid because he likely can't punch it back. I agree with GSM. Deflecting it is obviously more impressive.
